Friends of the Library

Who are we?

Young and old, working and retired, natives and newcomers, we are library patrons who treasure books, movies, magazines and free access to information and all of the other great resources a library can provide.
We are dedicated to improving the O'Neill Public Library's services and equipment for the benefit of the whole community.
We believe that our library is an important institution which improves the quality of life.

What have we done?

Over the years, the Friends of the Library have contributed in many ways to the success of the library and its services.
In the past year, we have:
* Purchased over 200 books for the library and the summer reading program.
* Contributed books and prizes to the summer reading program, Dragons, Dreams and Daring Deeds.
* Sponsored programs such as the Christmas Holiday Story Hour with visits by Santa, Mrs. Claus, Frosty the Snowman and the Sandman.
* Hosted an Artist In Residence program where participants learned watercolor technique and color design from a local artist.
* Purchased new shelving for the library.
* Hosted the annual Carnegie Auction with a funky 70's twist.
* Through memorials made to the Friends, we funded the purchase of a new outside bench, new plants and an Accu-Cut Die System.

Return the membership application to the library.
Please feel free to attend a Friends of the Library meeting on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the library's presentation room.
